The Catalog of U.S. Government Publications provides an index to print and electronic publications created by Federal agencies.

Google Uncle Sam  http://www.google.com/unclesam

FedWorld  http://www.fedworld.gov/gov-links.html

In 1992, FedWorld was established by The National Technical Information Service (NTIS), an agency of the U S Department of Commerce, to serve as the online locator service for a comprehensive inventory of information disseminated by the Federal Government. This service assisted agencies and the public in electronically locating Federal Government information, both information housed within the NTIS repository and outside of NTIS.

FirstGov  http://www.firstgov.gov/

On FirstGov.gov, you can search more than 186 million web pages from federal and state governments, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. Most of these pages are not available on commercial websites. FirstGov has the most comprehensive search of government anywhere on the Internet.

Government Information Locator Service  http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/gils/index.html

The Government Information Locator Service (GILS) is an effort to identify, locate, and describe publicly available Federal information resources, including electronic information resources. GILS records identify public information resources within the Federal Government, describe the information available in these resources, and assist in obtaining the information. GILS is a decentralized collection of agency-based information locators using network technology and international standards to direct users to relevant information resources within the Federal Government.
